Team Comtress 2 Update - February 20, 2026
- (TEST) Added basic game state integration
- External apps like observer tools can be notified of game state changes, and read/write game state to the game
- Retuned Pyro’s Flamethrower to fix some more damage issues:
- Fixed initial flame particle dealing full damage rather than the correct reduced damage
- Fixed flame particle damage falloff not working properly
- Split off heat system into two parts which measure warmup time and accuracy separately. This allows the heat system to be accurate for both accuracy and warmup, rather than compromising on either.
- Reworked competitive prematch warmup respawns to be even more instant than before, and show you a cancellable freeze-frame of your killer that can be clicked out of to respawn immediately. These instant respawns are now available in all competitive modes, rather than just high skill lobbies.
- Increased health-on-kill reward in prematch warmup from 50 to 75 health
- Fixed issues with class swap requests not working properly in various cases
- Changed high skill competitive matches with rounds to be first to 5 format rather than a best of 5
- Changed low skill competitive matches with rounds to be best of 5 rather than best of 3
- Reduced post-match time for Casual and Competitive modes to 10 seconds
- Fixed an issue where post-match period would be extended to wait for SourceTV delay, when the map was not changing to need such a gameplay delay
- Fixed a regression where pre-round freeze was not working on some non-matchmaking servers
- Fixed an issue where competitive servers would not cycle maps properly, causing server lag over time
- Fixed mp_tournament_readymode_team_size not being used properly for player ready up
- Reduced humiliation time from 15 seconds to 10 seconds in competitive (game-ending win time in competitive is still 5 seconds)
- Adjusted frequency of new Administrator voice lines in competitive mode
- Reduced the length of building labels in team outlines
- Fixed HUD aspect ratio not initializing properly, causing alignment issues on the default 4:3 mode
- Fixed main menu windows not exiting upon closing the main menu
- Fixed the main menu disappearing in some cases
- Fixed incorrect countdown label appearing
- Fixed various startup warnings
- Fixed various missing changes when activating beta mode
- Fixed tf_bot_add not working on first attempt
- Fixed Robot Destruction robots showing the “Built by” label
- Fixed payload recede voicelines playing during match summary time
- Fixed desync between server operator network config values and tickrate changes made in TC2
- Fixed mp_spectator_restricted being active when team balance limit was disabled
